Amber Capital Armenia, represented by Managing Partner Anushavan Simonyan, today announced its participation in the inaugural EU–Armenia Summit held in Yerevan, marking a significant step forward in strengthening economic and investment cooperation between Armenia and the European Union.

During the Summit, Amber Capital Armenia was selected among a group of leading Armenian institutions to sign a Letter of Intent with the European Commission. The agreement aims to foster collaboration in private equity investment, SME financing, and sustainable economic development across Armenia and the wider region.

The Letter of Intent was signed on behalf of the European Commission by Adrienn Király, Director for the Eastern Neighbourhood and Türkiye. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission; Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia; and António Costa, President of the European Council.

In parallel, Amber Capital Armenia announced the successful completion of the investment period for its first fund, with full capital deployment across 17 investments in eight sectors. Key areas of investment include renewable energy, energy infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture, and e-mobility, alongside other strategic growth sectors.

Building on this track record, the European Commission has expressed its interest to explore, together with Amber Capital Armenia, the establishment of a successor fund. The initiative would aim to accelerate the development of Armenia’s capital markets and mobilize additional European capital for infrastructure and strategic investment projects aligned with the connectivity agenda, including energy, transport, and digital infrastructure.

“This milestone reflects our long-term commitment to supporting Armenia’s economic development and deepening its integration with European markets,” said Anushavan Simonyan, Managing Partner of Amber Capital Armenia. “We look forward to expanding our partnership with European institutions and continuing to deliver impactful investments across key sectors.”
